Runner-up dux for Araura College Puna Mydear Kitai and dux Charlotte Lockington Pera wore proud smiles above their ei’s after receiving the awards at an end-of-year prizegiving this month.
The school held the event on Friday December 6 in the Prince Edward Hall attended by parents of all levels – year 7 to 12.
Charlotte Lockington Pera took the 2013 dux award, while Puna Mydear Kitai was named the runner-up dux.
To conclude the prize giving, there were presentations of gifts to outgoing staff members – principal Tarona Daniela, deputy principal Gaylyn Lockington and guidance counsellor Rossalynd Bartlett – from students, teachers and the school committee.
Those who attended enjoyed a shared lunch after the awards. Araura College staff and students would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the sponsors who contributed to the event.
